Hello: I work for the MBTA. I received a letter from a person who recalls seeing a bronze plaque commemorating the Dorchester Pottery Works. He says the plaque was placed in the Shawmut Station around 1984, but has since disappeared. He was wondering if we knew what happened to the plaque.

I checked with various sources, such as The Dorchester Historical Society, The Boston Public Library, The Boston Street Railway Association, and others. Nobody remembers this plaque. The BPL says it does not show up on any of its records of plaques in Boston.
