Fields Corner Main Street Accepting Board of Directors Nominations Fields Corner Main Street is seeking new people committed to working to enhance and promote the Fields Corner business district to fill open positions on our Board of Directors. Nominations are now being accepted for terms beginning in July 2008. Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. In addition to serving a two-year term, each board member is asked to commit four to six hours a month to Main Street efforts and projects by participating on a committee. Each member also is needed to play a role in our annual fundraising efforts. For information or to apply, contact FCMS at 617.474.1432 or fcms@fieldscorner.org. The Federal Communications Commission is coming to Boston to hold a public hearing featuring a rare local appearance of all 5 FCC Commissioners about the future of the Internet.

In recent months cable and Internet companies like Comcast, AT&T and Verizon have repeatedly been caught blocking, filtering, and spying on
consumers' Internet activities. The FCC is responding to the hundreds of thousands of people who have expressed their outrage over the anti-competitive practices by holding a hearing in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
