Last Wednesday, several community members came out for the 4th Annual Resource Fair for Families at the Lee School in Dorchester. Numerous community based organizations were represented at the fair and gave out helpful information regarding summer youth programs, job opportunities, classes, and health and wellness tips. The fair was a success in large part to the organizations and individuals who volunteered their time to make sure Dorchester families stay informed about all the great resources available to the community. One of the tables at the fair was dedicated to the Dorchester FAMILY School Initiative (DFSI) and the upcoming Boston Marathon Fundraiser. The purpose of the fundraiser is to provide better health, social support and enrichment services for children attending our partner schools: Lucy Stone School, Joseph Lee School, and Emily A. Fifield School. DFSI's goal is to connect our students and their families to their schools and the local community. Three runners will be representing DFSI in the Boston Marathon on April 21.
