Here are several great volunteer opportunities in Dorchester this spring:

Shawmut Gardens Grand Opening

On Saturday, May 17th there will be a community press event at the Shawmut T station to celebrate the grand opening of the Shawmut Gardens. Volunteers are needed on the day of the event from 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. to help prepare the area, set-up tables and chairs, paint faces, and generally assist as needed. The event will take place on the Tunnel Cap. To volunteer for this event please contact the SCI office at 617-822-8297.

Voter Registration Drive

Volunteers are needed to help staff tables at two Dorchester-wide voter registration drives. The first one is happening on Saturday, May 31st from 10am-1pm and the next one on Saturday, June 28th from 10am-1pm. The tables will be located in Fields Corner and Codman Square.  To volunteer for this event please contact the SCI AmeriCorps office at 617-822-8297.

City Year Serve-A-Thon

Serve-a-thon is a yearly day of service organized by City Year that connects volunteers to transformative projects and brings resources to communities. On Saturday June 7th, volunteers will be painting, landscaping, building, and making the Codman Square neighborhood shine! Some of the service sites include: Claybourne St. Gardens, Dorchester YMCA, Dorchester High School, and the Great Hall.
