Obama and McCain
Obama and McCain
This November voters from all across the US are going to vote for our next president. For the Democrats there is Illinois Senator Barack Obama. On the Republican side is Arizona Senator John McCain. Here are the candidates views on certain issues.
Iraq
Since the war began, Obama has been againest the war. If he gets elected he will immediately pull one to two brigades of troops out each month. Also Barack will apply pressure on the Iraqi government to take control of their country.
John McCain has a complete opposed view then Barack. McCain beleives that the US is making progress in Iraq and the US needs to help stabilize the Iraqi government and train Iraqi troops againest the Taliban and Al Qaeda before we leave.
Immigration
Each year half a million people illegally come to the United States. Barack Obama wants to increase border security and he will crack down on employers that hire illegal immigrants.Obama supports a system that allows undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens. Another thing that Obama plans to do is to help the economy in Mexico so illegal immigration will decrease.
Like Obama, McCain feels that the United States should secure our borders. McCain also wants to create alliances with Latin American countries to promote their economies.
Economy
Obama plans to provide tax rebates to American workers and provide Middle Class Americans with tax relief
McCain will try to help the economy by lowering gas prices in the summer to help out families on vacations. Also McCain is proposing a HOME plan, having families trade their mortgages for a loan
