WRITING CONTEST TO HONOR DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

Description: 

Boston Public School students in grades 4 through 8 who live in Dorchester, Roxbury or Mattapan are invited to submit an essay, poem, spoken word or rap song for a Writing Contest on Character to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. For the contest, students must tell what character means to them and what they believe Dr. King meant when he said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a national where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Prizes include an MP3 player, complimentary service at Salon Monet and gift certificates. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, May 1, 2007.
