Description:

The City of Boston will presenting several events in the next week in celebration of the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The following is a listing of some of the opportunities for everyone to celebrate MLK Day:

The King Birthday Salute featuring Martin Luther King III. On Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 11am, Dr. King's eldest son, Martin Luther King III, joins Mayor Thomas Menino at the City of Boston's commencement ceremony at the 12th Baptist Church in Roxbury.

The Citi Performing Arts Center, Wang Theatre will be presenting the MLK: A Gift of Song Concert on Friday, January 18th at 8pm. The artist for this event will be announced soon.

The Martin Luther King National Oration, featuring civil rights legend Reverend, Dr. C.T. Vivian, will be taking place at 12 noon on Monday, January 21, at Faneuil Hall. Dr. Vivian is best known for his work with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a member of his executive staff. read more »
